DTV - HD Receiver from home to SD kingdome in RV.

I tried to reply to a similer topic to ask this but. In our bedroom at home we just upgraded the SD receiver to HD. No DVR. I know I will set up for a singal LNB. But, right now I have a filter in the back coming in. Will I not hook that up to it when taking in the coach? Thanks all Don

RE: Winegard dish - will it work with HD receiver?

Absolutely. Like many others, I'm doing exactly what you are planning - taking an DirecTV HD receiver that lives in my stick house bedroom during the winter and using it in the RV in the summer. The house has 5-LNB and there I get all the HD channels. When I take it to the RV, it his hooked up to (depending if I'm at my permanent RV lot or on the road) a 3-LNB on my shed, a 1-LNB crankup on the roof of my Winnie, or the CampingWorld portable foldup "saucer" dish, which is also a 1-LNB. Just go into Setup and tell it you have the 1-LNB Round dish and you'll be good to go. No HD, but will handle the regular stations fine (just as it's doing for you today... not every channel you watch at home is HD.) This is kind of what I am doing also. Just went from an SD receiver in our (at home) bedroom to an HD. If I take that receiver. Do I pull off the filter that is on the back of the HD receiver when taking in the coach? We have in the living from of the house an HD DVR but wont be taking it in the coach. But I know I will setup to a single LNB but courious about the filter thingy that is on there now. Thanks Don

RE: 2006 Diplomat Economy Mode_ NOT enabled? Wow!!

It works on our 06 Knight - UPShifts at 2000 RPM instead of 2200 and delays uphill downshift til you slow ~10MPH Now THATS strange. I went back there thinking that maybe the Knight said something else. But it says the same thing as the Dip. That it is not enabled. Very strange.

RE: 2006 Diplomat Economy Mode_ NOT enabled? Wow!!

It does do something. It changes your shift pattern on hills. It will not pull down to the next lowest gear except in extreme conditions which means you go up the hills a little slower and the trans does not shift down turning the engine at higher RPMs. It will result in better mileage. What did you think it was going to do, some super speed gear or something? It does work!If you follow the link in the OP's original post it says that the "economy mode" is NOT activated for the Diplomat so I would tend to believe that it is, in fact NOT activated. Thanks Deen, I see Don Don has an 05 Knight. As we did also and I could tell it worked in it. I would not have said it was NOT ativated if Monaco didnt SAY it.

2006 Diplomat Economy Mode_ NOT enabled? Wow!!

This may be old news but I happen to go to Monacos site and take a look at the addendums. I have followed post about the ole Economy mode switch. Monacos addenDUM states that this feture is not enabled in the 2006 diplomat. Or the Cayman and Knight for that fact. Have you any idea why they would do this? Havnt called yet. But man. Once on the road I press it. And here the thing does NOTHING? This is the link to the pdf that they have posted for you 06 Dip. owners. Just thought that kinda weird and screwed up.

RE: Carefree Over the Door awning quit. - Monaco Dip 2006

Wow Bill Ray. I just got (from a girl in Carefree) via email. "May need to take it somewhere to get it fixed" Any way you know of how to get TO it if it is closed? And I CAN hear it clicking up IN the unit above the door when switch is pushed & let go. And there IS a hole on the bottom. I am not sure if that is the weep hole or not. Thanks for the reply Bill Ray

Carefree Over the Door awning quit. - Monaco Dip 2006

2006 Diplomat. Went out this weekend and the over the door awning wont move. There are 3 buttons inside. On/Off for the main awning. extend/retract for the main slide (It works) extend/retract for the Over the Door awning. I ran a continnuity test between the switch and it works. There are two modulars under the dash also. Going to both switches it appears. I checked fuses and they appear to have a reset switch on them. It tested fine also with a test. Providing it was the right one. If you look up at the awning there is a bunch of white silicone running down I guess from the Monaco install. I just dont know if the motor is fried and dont think a person could even get TO where the wires would feed into the awning. Has anyone had a problem or have you installed any of the motorized over the door Carefree awnings? Thanks all. I am at a loss. Carefree said to take it somewhere. Geeeeee I would have NEVER thought of that!!!! Thanks again Don

RE: TV Interference - DTV

You have tried the receiver in two places, Works fine in one, fuzzy in the other This rules out the receiver You have tried two different cables, you have tried going DIRECT to the television bypassing all switches or other stuff in the rig, This more or less rules out the cables, and the switches in the rig, Though 2 or more bad coax cables is NOT unheard of,, it's rare. The only thing you have not "Swapped out" is the television itself So, Does this give you a suggestion? Question: Does the TV had "A/V input" jacks (Red/White/Yellow RCA-Coxial jacks? If so, try that way of feeding it But I think either your TV is way out of tune, or you got a bad tv How does it work with over the air signals from local TV stations? The tv is clear as a bell with DVD. The 2nd tv in the coach is fuzzy as well off the DTV receiver. Thats why I dont think it is TV. As far as the over the air? As stated before I did get a digital tuner for the antenna. I hooked it up here at home. Only got one channel but it was real clear. As weird as it sounds I still thik it is something to do with the receiver. The TV has the composite? Blue, green and the other one. LOL There are AV jacks but it is weird. They are not together. I gota take another look at that and try maybe the HD receiver from the living room out there. I just may run into setup problems if I try that. Very weird.

RE: TV Interference - DTV

UPDATE Well, I brought in an extention cord into the coach from the house and the same thing. Yet in the house it is clear. I did not take the extention cord to the TV and IT is clear on the DVD player and the 2nd tv is fuzzy through the DTV receiver. I had a tech come over for another reason and HE mentioned that it could be the D12-200 receiver. But then again I wasnt even plugged in 110 volt TO the coach. Although the D12-200 only has a two prong plug as opposed to a 3 prong like my old RCA DTV boxes. It is like there is a damn force field iside the coach!!! LOL :h

RE: TV Interference - DTV

Well, if the antenna pointing page is fuzzy the problem is between the receiver and the tv. Since you said you hooked a line direct from the receiver to the TV, thus bypassing all coach systems. Unless you have a batch of bad coax, I'm at a total loss, cause that is all I can think of.. Save for one other thing I assume the TV works for over the air (Rooftop antenna) signals.. you could have a bad tv Thats the thing John. I dont think it is cables as when I hooked up the digital box for the antenna bought at camping world one time. (again, at this time it is packed away and unhooked) even though I only got one channel, it was VERY clear. I am at a loss here also. I will try to run a power cord inside from the house and if it clears up. Then I know it is something electrical the DTV box doesnt like. Thanks again all Don

RE: TV Interference - DTV

Don, LOL is right, "creative", every time I do that it involves a lot of work. Glad it doesn't happen often. I am just trying to eliminate the coach as a problem as you say it works fine in the house. If it is clear with the power cord you then have a base to work from. The camera and isolated ground sounds interesting. If the receiver works well with no power in the coach then it's time to start turning things on one at a time until you get the fuzzies. If it were me I'd start with the camera, is it wireless? What was wrong with the camera? Please understand that I know nothing about those cameras. However it is a video type thing that "may" cause interference. How close to the monitor to the camera is the D* receiver? I'm afraid I am grasping at straws at your expense. As a short cut to the above, can you disable the camera system without much effort? Then try with full power to the coach. It would be a shot at not going the power cord route, albeit a long shot. Sure hope you find it and end the frustration. I wish you good luck, Stan Thanks a LOT Stan for the imput. I am going to have to try to do that. Basiclly bypassing the coach. Donno when I'll get a chance as we are in for some rain here then off to the races in Vegas in a week. The Camera is part of what they call an Aladin system. Built in and gives information like engine temps and stuff. But the monitor camera part kept flickering. Then going out. Not it appears to be fine. I can tell you that if I had or still used the old DTV receiver and IT was fuzzy. I would know it had nothing to do with the receiver. This is very frustrating. But I will report back when I find something. Thanks again for your imput. All of you.

RE: TV Interference - DTV

Don, Wow, what a pain in the ..... s. ON Edit: I have to ask... did you try a power cord from your house directly to the receiver and TV with all power off in the coach, including 12 volt? Probably an exercise in futility but I'll ask nonetheless. Now THAT is creative in deed SCR!! LOL I have not tried that but it sure is an idea for a process of elimination. A couple things. We went and bought one of those digital tuners from CW for the antenna. It is NOT hooked up at this time nor was it over the weekend. Now, when I hooked THAT up in the coach a few weeks ago in front of the house. The ONE channel I got was REAL sharp & clear. Another thing. I should have tried the cable from the park we were at. But at that park. I donno if I could tell as it is crummy anyhow. Also 2 weeks ago we got the coach back from the dealer. We had been having problems with the back up camera. They said they ran an isolated ground to it. AND SOMETHING I JUST TRIED. The DVD/VHS/surround sound (I use the aux sound all the time) I put in a DVD and it is going THROUGH the switchbox and all. CLEAR as a bell. Also. If I turn everything off the blue screen to the TV is clear as a bell also. (This is NOT the blue or setup screen from the DTV box) Just appears when I hook up the DTV receiver the problems start. Just a couple things to add. But a good idea to try about the power. Lota work but it has to be something in the coach or that the DTV receiver doesnt like.

RE: TV Interference - DTV

Well, I cant figure it out. Tried both dishes. Portable and dome. slightly fuzzy picture both TV's Tried with NO dishes hooked to the receiver. Set up or searching screen fuzzy. Tried bypassing the switch box. Tried unhooking power to coach and tried the Genset. Tried both channel 3 & 4 Came home and tried it on the Genset. Didnt even wait to find the sat. as the setup screen was fuzzy. Take it into house? Crystal clear. I WISH I still had one of my old Receivers activated. I know they were clearer but I tossed them anyhow I think. I could take out the living room receiver but it is a HD DVR. A LOT of stuff hooked to it. But if the other Receiver is clear in the bedroom this one would probley do it also. Man O Man. Thanks for all your imput guys. Don

RE: monaco anybody

We love the ride. NOT happy with the main slide as it has tore the carpet up and marred (spelling) up the tile. Fighting Monaco about that now. Have owned 4 Monacos in the past 5 years. And truly wish we would not have traded the Knight in. Just our exp. But as far as the ride? Love it.

RE: TV Interference - DTV

Yes, the video switch with all the switches. Just tried going to channel 4 on DTV receiver and tv. Same if not worse. Went to DTV with red, white, yellow. Believe it or not there are only composite in the back of the LCD. Blue Green etc. Which shocks me. Man O Man. enough messing with it today. It has got to be some sort of interference. Tackle again tomorrow I suppose before the race. I do want to thank you all for sending your ideas this way.

RE: TV Interference - DTV

You may want to head over to DBSTalk register (it's free) and post your question under the appropriate receiver type. There are some very knowledgeable friendly people on the forum. s. Been there many times. Donno how much that would help though. It works fine at home. Havnt really seen where anyone talks about dishes in the RV's though. But I'll check.

RE: TV Interference - DTV

try a different coax. Had the same thing and mine had gone bad It was a coax out of a bag. All other ones I pretty much wrenched down behind the switchbox and all. Something else. The signal coming out of the DTV box when at the house is clear. In case someone was wondering. When I said "It was a coax out of a bag" that was to the TV by passing the switchbox. I'll try replacing the one from the dome to the DTV box.......... No that didnt help. Then I relized that I had tried it once without incoming at all attached and it still did it. Duhhh. HAS to be some sort of interference. Thanks all BTW for handing out suggestions
